SOCIAL RESEARCH METHODS FOR DVELOPMENT
The overall objective of this course is to equip graduate students with the most fundamental knowledge and skills that are essential to conduct their own social research especially in the context of international development studies. The course starts with discussing basic concepts and methods available for social research. The course covers a range of topics on project design, data collection, data analysis, and report writing in social research with practical implementation tips: what we actually need to do before, during, and after the fieldwork. The course participants will be given the opportunity to practice applying some basic quantitative and qualitative methods.

IMPACT EVALUATION IN INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The overall objective of this seminar is to equip graduate students with the most fundamental knowledge and skills that are essential to conduct their own empirical research for evaluating projects, programs and policies within the education sector of developing countries. We focus on understanding the basic theoretical frameworks and a set of major statistical tools that are frequently used in conducting quantitative data analysis in international educational development studies.
